An evening of alternative folksy r&b with Miss Dukes and Miki G (also known as Miki Hellerbach, a former BSA student). Two Brooklyn based solo artists performing separately as well as together accompanied by a live band. They will musically explore their own and the world's current state with love through original music and a few weaved in covers.
Two student small groups will perform great jazz compositions by Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Kenny Dorham, Charlie Parker, and more!
Quiet, reclusive and massively talented Billy Colucci’s name is known to Baltimoreans who really know their jazz.
Sylvia Adalman Chamber Series

An all-Chopin recital that joins little-known works of Chopin with perennial favorites, exploring the connections between them. Included in the program will be the rarely heard Tarantella, Bolero, Fugue and Bourr‚es alongside such beloved works as the Polonaise in A major, Fantasy-Impromptu and excerpts from the Opus 10 études.
The UMBC Department of Music presents the UMBC Chamber Players under the direction of Airi Yoshioka. Students in the Chamber Players perform a wide variety of instrumental chamber works, ranging from Baroque, Classical, Romantic to contemporary repertoire.

From baby boomers to millennials, seasoned festival goers to country converts, Jenni Lyn’s music offers a current approach to the evolving bluegrass sound, while maintaining the perfect balance of that down home comfort. Her broad span of shared experiences and collaborations has shaped Gardner as an artist and as a performer, all culminating in an exciting new album that showcases her well-developed repertoire of songs.
This is the premiere performance of McDaniel College’s Student African Percussion Ensemble. The ensemble is under the direction of music faculty member Pape Demba “Paco” Samb, a Senegalese griot.

Join Seth Kibel and his friends for the release of Seth’s newest project, Songs of Snark & Despair.
Known throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for his skill on woodwinds and his ability to cross genres, Seth Kibel has a brand-new album of original tunes featuring talented guest artists, progressive political commentary, dark humor, and much-needed musical therapy for these strange and trying times. The songs on this album traverse a wide landscape of musical styles, including blues, swing, klezmer, bossa nova, reggae, and more.
We are pleased to present Bill Toms, whose performances have become legendary in sheer power and passion. Rock and roll, soul, blues, and gospel so deep the earth moves, and the walls begin shakin’ as Bill Toms and his band start the train rollin’. American music never sounded so good.
The UMBC Gamelan Ensemble will perform traditional Javanese music on the Department of Music’s Javanese gamelan.

UMBC is located about 10 minutes south of the Inner Harbor along I-95. For this event, free visitor parking is available in Lot 8, directly adjacent to the Performing Arts and Humanities Building, where the Music Box is located on the first floor.
Peabody Jazz Ensemble

Considered to be a virtuoso of tremendous influence in the revival of the hammered dulcimer, Walt Michael’s wide repertoire ranges from old-time Southern Appalachian, to Celtic, to breath-taking original compositions. His various musical incarnations, including Bottle Hill, Michael, McCreesh & Campbell and Walt Michael & Co. have spanned over 40 years and taken him from the coal camps of Appalachia to the Closing Ceremonies of the 13th Olympic Winter Games.
The UMBC Collegium Musicum is dedicated to the exploration and performance of vocal and instrumental music from the European Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, sampling musical repertoires created between 800 and 1750. The ensemble explores convention and innovation by pairing music that pushed boundaries in its time with music that followed stylistic conventions.

Caleb Stine, Baltimore’s beloved tall and handsome folk troubadour, returns for another installment of his ‘Round the Mountain show. For this iteration of ‘Round the Mountain, Caleb will be joined by old-time duo Ann Porcella & Bill Schmidt, Crankie puppeteer Katherine Fahey, and master of the American Primitive guitar, Glenn Jones. Together, they will transport audiences to a different dimension, where geopolitical decision making is determined by folk harmonies and roots musicianship. Buckle-up.
About the Concert
The UMBC Department of Music presents the Jubilee Singers under the direction of Janice Jackson.
The performance will be followed immediately by the UMBC Gospel Choir at 8 p.m.

Troy Koger returns to the Cabaret at Germanos presenting a warm evening to get you in the holiday spirit. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as Troy sings a broad range of favorites from the Holiday and Christmas songbooks in varying musical styles. Accompanied by the Terry Koger Quartet, the evening will feature traditional Christmas hymns and carols, as well as many contemporary holiday favorites. It's an evening for the entire family!
