Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore’s premier early music ensemble, presents its annual concert in celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert focuses on Bach’s craft and emotional impact. The program includes the Musical Offering, Violin Concerto in E Major, selections from the Goldberg Variations, and Johann Goldberg’s Trio Sonata in C Major. Players are Sara Nichols, flute; Greg Mulligan, Ivan Stefanovic, and Audrey Wright, violin; Renata Falkner, viola; and PMR Artistic Director Allen Whear, cello.

Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM) will hold auditions on March 21st, April 1st and 13th in Towson for children as young as 5 ½ who are interested in participating in an exciting choral performance program. Miles Gannett is a singer-songwriter/guitarist who has been writing and performing music since his single-digit years. He crafted his early tunes in the style and spirit of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll. As a teenager, his production of electronic music let him dive into the sounds and writing styles of classic psychedelia. In his early twenties, Miles played in the Krautrock-influenced experimental band Zeug and was the original lead guitarist for Baltimore world-fusion powerhouse, Telesma.

Singer/director Carolyn Black-Sotir brings together a cast of 80 amazing artists to celebrate the centennial birthday of Leonard Bernstein.
This 90-minute program of art song for piano and voice, presented by soprano Laura Choi Stuart and pianist Joy Schreier, explores the mystery and delight of sleeping and dreaming, and spans the breadth of art song repertoire from three centuries and six languages. Stuart will guide the performance with notes delivered from the stage as the program explores musical interpretations of sleep by composers including Handel, Strauss, Schubert, Fauré, and Rachmaninov.

The Hot Club of Baltimore, featuring guitarist Michael Joseph Harris, is the premier gypsy jazz group of the region specializing in the vast repertoire of vintage jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt including early swing, musette waltzes, show tunes, be bop, and French standards from the 30's and 40's. The band will be joined by the beautiful young chanteuse Alexis Tantau who will beguile you with her authentic treatment of songs from Edith Piaf to Ella Fitzgerald. One of the best blues bands in the Mid-Atlantic, the Baltimore-based Kelly Bell Band presents a fusion of hip-hop, funk, rock and blues. Originally formed as a backup band for Bo Diddley, front man Kelly Bell and the band are now in their 22nd year of playing, recording, and entertaining fans.
