CELEBRATED ORGANIST FREDERICK SWANN IN CONCERT
Legendary organist Frederick Swann will play works by Bach, Franck, Willan & Weaver on Brown Memorial's famed 1931 Skinner organ. "One of the country's most distinguished organists" (music critic Tim Smith), Swann has performed thousands of recitals, received numerous awards, and has a celebrated discography. Organist at NYC's Riverside Church for many years (working with and succeeding his friend Virgil Fox) and at California's Crystal Cathedral, in 2016 Swann is giving a small number of concerts to celebrate his 85th birthday and his coming retirement. A reception follows this remarkable Tiffany Series event. Co-sponsored by the Baltimore Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Free parking and shuttle service will be available.
