The repetition of imagery, ideas, or form is a powerful tool in the creation of art. In this class, students will investigate not just repetition as used as a formal design tool, but also the power the repetition of movement, thought, and ritual have in how we create. Sample making will be used to explore various ideas and formal projects will be inspired by these samples. In addition to studio work, short written exercises and readings will be given. Students can use this class to develop new ideas for their artwork, perfect a skill or technique, and explore the ways in which they create. Prerequisite: Introduction to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.
