Formed in 1971, the Trinidad and Tobago Steel Drum Orchestra has entertained audiences worldwide, with their experienced pannists bringing the sounds, styles, and breezy ways of the Caribbean to listeners. Not content to simply perform for concert audiences, beginning in 1999 the orchestra took their steel drums (made from 55-gallon oil drums) to teach children in after-school programs, summer camps, and public schools.
