Imaginary Museum 2015
Friday, March 27–Sunday, April 12
M.F.A. in Graphic Design and M.F.A in Curatorial Practice students are developing exhibitions, museum branding and educational strategies to present an exhibition of unusual hypothetical museums, including The Podcast Museum, The Museum of Smell, The Museum of Self-Reflection, The Mojave Museum of Infinity and The Museum of Tiny Dinosaurs. Imaginary Science Museum is structured so the designers and curators are equal in this creative collaborative endeavor, presenting, responding, remixing, intervening, suggesting and supporting new ideas from their peers. Through Imaginary Science Museum, students demonstrate their ability to tell concrete stories about abstract ideas, and students establish and sustain a meaningful and engaging dialogue with peers. (Visit fyi.mica.edu for additional details on Imaginary Science Museum.)
Hours for MICA's galleries, which are free and open to the public, are Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. -5 p.m., and Sundays, noon-5 p.m.
