Art Outside Returns to Druid Hill Park for a Third Consecutive Year in 2015

Art Outside 3, returns to Druid Hill Park on Sunday, May 17, 2015. A juried arts event reminiscent of the city's annual outdoor art festival from the 1950s and 1960s is back for a third consecutive year. It will feature the creations of Maryland visual artists who are working, studying and living here.
Strolling entertainers, performance groups, and representation from local area arts organizations will once again headline the Festival. Art Outside 3 will feature a kids’ art exploration area hosted by (cool) progeny, Baltimore’s best food trucks, and plenty of free parking. It is an outdoor, free event and will be held rain or shine.
The original Druid Hill Reservoir arts festival was organized by local Baltimore artist Amalie Rothschild and featured well-known artists from the Maryland community. This year we will feature even more new and exciting elements, including new performance groups on the main stage, a wider variety of food trucks, and cultural partnerships to showcase the many disciplines of art in Maryland.
“This year’s event will have a similar feel to past years, with more artists and more representation from Maryland schools,” said Barbara Shapiro, founder of Art Outside. “The Baltimore community extends from the City to the counties. The event will bring artists and art appreciators together in Baltimore’s incredible Druid Hill Park. We want to support our burgeoning arts community, artists who want to build a business and live in our wonderful City.”
Maryland artists interested in exhibiting and selling their works as part of this juried arts festival are encouraged to submit an application in one of the following categories: ceramics clay, drawing – painting, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, photography,
textile and wood. There is no application fee. A $75 show fee is due upon acceptance and there is no commission on sales. Entries are being accepted through March 16, 2015 on the festival’s website, ArtOutsideMD.org.
Art Outside 3 is a free event and is again partnering with arts foundations, community leaders and art aficionados, along with the Parks & People Foundation and Baltimore City Recreation and Parks. Art Outside 3 is supported by the contributions of the community, private foundations and corporate partners.
