With introduction by music history faculty Carl Schmidt and Aaron Ziegel, the culminating performance of the celebration of American opera will feature works by earlier American opera composers and a fully staged performance of Randall Thompson's seldom heard opera, Solomon and Balkis, performed with orchestra and students from Music for the Stage.
