In his paintings and sculptures, MFA candidate Sherwood wrestles with the subject of masculinity and the role that it plays in contemporary society. His interest stems from personal experiences growing up in rural Ohio and Arkansas in a long line of hard-working farmers, laborers, businessmen and military servicemen.
