Exhibition | MFA Candidates Show

January 31 - March 14
Center for the Arts, Holtzman MFA Gallery, CA 2040
Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Four MFA candidates, Lolo Gem, Nguyên Khôi Nguyễn, Cody Pryseski, and Tara Youngborg share their work in a group showing.
Lolo Gem’s exhibition Hidden In Plain Sight navigates and parses the internal landscape, informed by principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, analytical psychology, and the artist’s personal narrative. Nguyên Khôi Nguyễn’s exhibition, Every Day A New Page employs a variety of media—rooted in drawing and music—to explore fatherhood, grief, and the Vietnamese-American experience. Pryseski's exhibition, Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Emotional Response, explores the emotional impact of childhood traumas including emasculation, sexual and physical abuse, bullying, low self-worth, and emotional pain. Tara Youngborg’s exhibition, not a town but a landing page, uses digital technologies to create immersive installations, through techniques of glitch, loss, and layering.
