The Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra's 100th Anniversary Celebration Concert

The Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra's 100th Anniversary celebration continues with a performance in one of Baltimore's most beautiful spaces. First & Franklin Presbyterian Church in historic Mt. Vernon was built in a flamboyant gothic revival style in 1859 with the tallest steeples in the City of Baltimore rising to 273 feet. The sanctuary where the performance will be held beneath glowing vaulted ceilings featuring massive plaster pendants and intricate designs. Three of the stained glass windows in the church were created by the famed Tiffany and Co. of New York City.

A reception will be held immediately following the concert with a presentation on the History of the Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra.

Public Concert $20

Baltimore’s “other” orchestra was founded in 1924 by German-born conductor, composer, and music teacher Conrad Gebelein. The 2024 - 25 season features special concerts and programs highlighting original compositions and arrangements by Gebelein and orchestra members.
