From 1989 through 2015, Baltimore-based Sankofa Dance Theater created world-class, authentic African art experiences through dance, music, and folkways for national and international audiences. This fall celebrates the release of Sankofa Dance Theater: 30 Years of Music Movement and Folkways, a limited-edition hardcover coffee table book that chronicles the troupe's powerful history as a cultural ambassador in Baltimore and West Africa. The two-weekend book launch will feature rare dance performances and drum and movement workshops with past members of Sankofa Dance Theater.
