Pro Musica Rara presents The Italian Lute

Join us on Sunday 29 September at 3:30 pm for Pro Musica Rara’s The Italian Lute: Kaleidoscopic Trio Sonatas and a Concerto for Archlute. The concert will take place at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210.

This Italian chamber program features Paul O’Dette, lute and archlute, who is one of the most influential figures in his field. He has been described as “the clearest case of genius ever to touch his instrument.” (Toronto Globe and Mail).

He will be joined by Cynthia Roberts, violin; Lydia Becker, violin; Phoebe Carrai, cello; and Adam Pearl, harpsichord. The program includes Trio sonatas by Stradella, Corelli, and Vivaldi; a cello sonata by Geminiani, and lute concertos by Nicola Ugolino.

Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore's “premier early music ensemble”, is a period instrument chamber music ensemble performing baroque, classical, and early romantic repertoire. There will be a pre-concert presentation at 2:30.
