Griffin Woodard Quintet ft. Todd Marcus

Griffin Woodard Quintet ft. Todd Marcus

An Evening of Eric Dolphy at An die Musik Live! Livestream passes and student tickets available!

Bass Clarinetists Todd Marcus and Griffin Woodard join forces to pay homage to Eric Allan Dolphy, Jr. (1928-1964), performing a program of his compositions. Dolphy was a titan of modern music whose fire, genius, and unending dedication to his craft inspired everyone who followed. Furthermore, he was the first and greatest instrumentalist to prove the limitless possibilities of the bass clarinet in a post-bop context. Join us as we celebrate his music and legacy!

They are honored to work with Todd Marcus, a prolific artist who the New York Times recognized as “the most inventive bass clarinetist working in straight-ahead jazz today.”

"Whatever I'd say would be an understatement. I can only say my life was made much better by knowing him. He was one of the greatest people I've ever known, as a man, a friend, and a musician." - John Coltrane speaking about Eric Dolphy
