Voyager Ensemble: The Chinese Connection
In the spirit of arm-chair travelers everywhere, the Voyager Ensemble, featuring violinists Airi Yoshioka and Zheyang “Jerry” Xiong, violist David Yang, and cellist Summer Hu, explores a new country of the world each year by performing repertoire by composers from the region. In its sixth season, this year’s concert focuses on China with a program featuring:
Zhou Long: Chinese Folk Songs
Bright Sheng: String Quartet No. 4 “Silent Temple”
Chen Yi: Three Bagatelles from China
Tan Dun: Eight Colors for String Quartet
