Art Seminar Group presents "A Concise History of World Architecture in 24 Examples: Towards the Present Day (Lecture 3 of 3)" with Kerr Houston, professor of art history, theory and criticism, Maryland Institute College of ArtIn the past few centuries, architecture has experienced an explosion of new materials, forms, and possibilities. This talk, built around eight provocative examples including Sen no Rikyu's tea room in Kyoto, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and Beijing National Stadium, will offer a look at some of the most important innovations in modern and contemporary architecture, while also emphasizing the role of emerging technologies and theoretical discourse.
