National Zoom Book Study on Eternal Effects of Racial Justice

A digital book publishing company has decided to put its activism into action. SMS Novel, a 2017 social media library startup, has focused on connecting authors to readers via text and zoom. But with the rise of COVID-19 and social distancing, the company has skyrocketed as users seek new ways to connect.

But following the death of George Floyd, SMS now wants to do more. So every night, they are hosting a live-zoom call around a book on race. They discuss the contents, share their experience, and even sometimes, cry together. But SMS co-founder Joe Johnson, himself an African-American, wants the experience to be a means of healing.

"It is a sad reality that we are becoming more and more segregated as a country," says Johnson. "But if we can use the power of a book, a conversation, and the willingness to listen, then we believe Amazing things can happen.

SMS Novel is currently hosting a Zoom Book study on the new book, "He Changed The World: A Theological Novel Inspired By the Life of George Floyd. Anyone interested can register at www.SMSNovel.com
