Virtual Marine Science Day

Virtual Marine Science Day

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) invites you to join us online on Saturday, May 30, for Marine Science Day 2020! This family-friendly, virtual event will provide participants of all ages with the opportunity to interact with some of the leading scientists in the field of marine science as well as explore the areas of research conducted at VIMS. As one of the largest marine research and education centers in the United States and a global leader in coastal and estuarine science, VIMS is focused on studying the challenges faced by coastal communities around the world. Our scientists research harmful algal blooms, underwater grasses, sea level rise, pollution, sharks, oysters, shellfish aquaculture, and everything in between. Marine Science Day will feature videos and resources to explore at your leisure as well as live-streamed talks and Q&A sessions with our scientists. We hope you join us for what will be a fun, educational, and engaging day of exploration.

Registration is required in order to access the Marine Science Day virtual platform. Visit www.vims.edu/msd for more information, a schedule of the day’s activities, and to register.
