WOMEN 2020: Rhoda Harrison in "For the Love of...Broadway!"

Returning to Baltimore for just one night, Rhoda shares her new show For the Love of …Broadway at Germano’s. Together, she and accompanist, Wally Ford, will offer a delightful program of twentieth and twenty-first century theatre gems each of which has had a special place in Rhoda’s life. Come and enjoy the music! Come and get to know these dynamic and thoughtful performers!

Rhoda Harrison

Rhoda is a classically trained lyric - coloratura soprano who since childhood has been drawn to the music of the stage. She is a versatile performer who has appeared on the concert stage in various cities throughout the United States and in Jerusalem as well as in more intimate spaces such as Germano's Cabaret. An ordained Cantor and Rabbi, as well, Rhoda served congregations and lent her voice to many programs, concerts, and life-cycle events in Baltimore for 25 years before relocating to South Jersey in 2018 for a new cantorial opportunity. Whether in the synagogue or on the concert stage, Rhoda is recognized for coupling her rich and emotive lyrical expression with her expansive range to express text, entertain and uplift audiences.

Wally Ford, Jr.

An accomplished organist, pianist, and harpist, Wally began his music career in Baltimore at the age of five. After studying at Peabody Conservatory, he earned performance degrees from the Virginia Commonwealth University and the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to his relocation back to Baltimore in 1993, Wally served as Organist for First Church of Christ, Scientist in Amarillo, Texas and as Second Harp for the Amarillo Symphony. He also performed frequently as a solo harpist. Currently, Wally is the Director of Music at both St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church in Curtis Bay and St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn and serves as organist/accompanist/harpist at Har Sinai Congregation in Owings Mills.

"Rhoda is a delight … intensely devoted to her craft. The musicality expressed in her singing is most affecting, and hearing her in concert is a treat not to be missed. Her personality is positive, encouraging, and inspiring.” - Wallace Ford, Director of Music/Organist/Harpist
