When the Maryland Historical Society took up its home in the Enoch Pratt House in 1919, the Mount Vernon neighborhood was undergoing a major evolution in its history as a home to the city's elite during the Gilded Age, from the mid- to late-19th century. This lecture, presented by Lance Humphries, will map out the development of the area over the last 100 years. This lecture is part of the Francis Scott Key Lecture series.
