Go With Mixolo: Twisted Melodies

No need to opt out of great musical theater because you can't convince a plus-one. You can sit with us. Join us for Twisted Melodies , written and performed by Kelvin Roston, Jr. The powerful one-man show about legendary 1970s soul singer Donny Hathaway returns to Center Stage for a limited run.

Kelvin Roston, Jr., whose performance in the show’s 2017 Center Stage production was described by the Baltimore Sun as “brilliant,” reprises his embodiment of the singer and composer, who is perhaps best known for his duets with Roberta Flack, Flack “The Closer I Get to You” and “Where is the Love?” Twisted Melodies explores the artist’s inner struggle with emotional demons, even as his music soars. The show was originally produced by Center Stage and Congo Square Theatre Company in association with The Apollo Theater and Mosaic Theater company of D.C. Roston’s performance will pull you into Hathaway’s world, as he moves frantically between brilliance and fevered paranoia, accompanied by the musician’s unforgettable soundtrack.
