48th Annual Historic Harbor House Tour of Fell's Point

From historically significant dwellings to quaint row houses and from scenic apartments to elegant houses, there is something for everyone at the 48th Annual Historic Harbor House Tour of Fell’s Point, set to take place on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th, from 11am until 5 pm. The event benefits The Preservation Society and is a self-guided tour through Fell’s Point quaint streets and into a sampling of homes and urban gardens in this historic maritime community. Tickets are $20.00 per person in advance and $25.00 the day of the event, which will take place rain or shine. For tickets or more information, log onto http://www.preservationsociety.com/tours-and-events/housetour.html or www.fphousetours.org or call 410-675-6750.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at:

· Long & Foster Realtors, 701 S. Broadway, Fell’s Point, by check or cash only.

· Lucretia B. Fisher Visitor Center, 1724 Thames Street, day of the tour by cash, check or credit card.

This self-guided tour will consist of about a dozen houses, including such “perennials” as the Robert Long House and Colonial Garden c.1765, the Thomas Lamdin House c.1799 and the spectacularly combined four early 1800’s homes of The Gardens and Palace on Dallas. The other homes will include an assortment of Fell’s Point residences ranging from cozy historic houses with beautiful urban gardens to dramatic, light-filled contemporary homes. Docents will be available at each location to further educate guests on the history of the home and the style and unique characteristics found within, as well as the story of the owners.

The Preservation Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) historic preservation membership organization serving Baltimore's two oldest maritime communities - Federal Hill and Fell's Point. The Preservation Society was founded in 1967 to stop the proposed extension of I-95 across the Inner Harbor, which led to both communities being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Society continues to this day operating for charitable and educational purposes in the renewal and preservation of both Fell's Point and Federal Hill as areas of particular historical and architectural significance for the benefit, education and appreciation of the general public.
