Instrumental pieces will include Gershwin’s “Lullaby” with the Howard County Concert Orchestra’s String Quartet,” and “Rhapsody in Blue” with pianist Eric Zuber. In a salute to another American musical icon, CPC, accompanied by pianist Sammy Marshall, will perform “And Make Our Garden Grow” from Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. A free lecture on the music will begin at 7 pm, and the performance will be followed by a complementary reception.

Tickets for the performance are $23, $20 (students and senior citizens) in advance; $2 more at the door. Children 5-15: $10. Ticets may be ordered online at the CPC website, www.procantare.org, or by phone at 301.854.0107 or 410.799.9321.
