Thresholds and Doorways: Creating Meaningful Ritual in Daily Life

Thresholds and Doorways: Creating Meaningful Ritual in Daily Life with Sharon Moore, Threshold Celebrant and Robin Williams, Inner Harbor Wellness

Saturday, March 23, 11-5:30pm

Thresholds and Doorways explores how ritual and ceremony, when meaningful, can help us navigate the rhythms of our lives with greater purpose and awareness. During the workshop we will define ritual in a historical context and see why humans embrace ceremony enthusiastically. We will explore how symbols and ceremony personalize ritual. The afternoon includes an ancestral meditation as well as an art expression. No experience necessary.

As a Threshold Celebrant, Sharon Moore has been creating and performing threshold rituals for over a decade. An ordained minister, Sharon develops purposeful and unique rituals for weddings, birth and end of life events, sacred life celebrations, holidays, special occasions, and space consecrations. She has extensively studied the religions of the world and often incorporates sacred works and poetry from many faiths, traditions, and philosophies. She believes that conscious action aligns us with our divine path and that by honoring life’s divine moments, love can grow and flourish.

Robin Williams directs Inner Harbor Wellness. Her experience as Director of Education at the Baltimore Shambhala Meditation Center, and training with the Center for Mind Body Medicine, The Mindfulness in the Schools Project in the UK, and with Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction form the foundation of her teaching. Her life long experience in the arts includes being an art and dance teacher, choreographer, multimedia artist and collaborator.
