Bassist Mark Wade, voted one of the top 10 bassists of 2018 and 2016 by the prestigious Downbeat Magazine Reader’s Poll, has been active in the NYC jazz scene for 20 years, playing with a long list of jazz notables. His trio will be playing tunes from his latest album, Moving Day, at Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel. In a review in All About Jazz, critic Dan Bilawsky says, “Mark Wade, pianist Tim Harrison, and drummer Scott Neumann always make clear what they mean to say and where they've chosen to go...Wade's work manages to connect on an emotional level while remaining true to its principles...The resultant music speaks to artistic sympathies, subtleties, and strength.”
