Together Atticus and Elliot will present a program of original music that they have put together specifically for this band. They will be playing with Virginia based pianist James Fernando who attended the same Banff Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music in 2017 and Philadelphia bassist Sandy Eldred. This project is the culmination of many different voices and stories coming together to create these sounds for you.

Originally from Chicago, trumpeter and composer Elliot Bild got his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University where he studied with Scott Cowan, Andrew Rathbun and Edward Simon. He just received his Masters Degree from Temple University where he studied with John Swana, Terell Stafford and Dick Oatts. Elliot has also won multiple Downbeat student music awards. In the spring of 2016, he received a grant to write all original music, inspired by poetry, to be performed with ballet. In August 2017, Elliot was selected along with 14 other fellows to participate in the Ravinia Steins Music Institute, a week-long workshop focusing on composition where he worked with Rufus Reid, Nathan Davis and Billy Childs. Later that summer, Elliot attended the Banff Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music, where he had the chance to work with Gary Bartz, Jeremy Pelt, Vijay Iyer, Tyshawn Sorey, Robin Eubanks and Tia Fuller, among others. Recently Elliot performed with the great Philadelphia Bassist Mike Boone at Smalls Jazz Club in NYC with his quintet. He has also performed with such people as Joe Lovano, Tim Warfield, Edward Simon, Don Braden, Randy Brecker, Mike DiRubbo, Zaccai Curtis, John Clayton, Jimmy Heath, Byron Landham, and Billy Hart.

Atticus Reynolds is a drummer, composer, and educator, hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and currently living in Los Angeles, California. He is the first jazz musician and composer to receive the Kenan Music Scholarship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Atticus has worked at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City and studied with renowned artists, including Kenny Washington and Joe Farnsworth in New York, and received extensive classical snare drum and Latin percussion training with composer-performer, Dr. Juan Alamo. In 2016, he studied for two and a half months at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. After this summer, Atticus composed and recorded an original suite of music in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which resulted in the release of his debut album “Ventana” in 2017. KCRW and KJAZZ radio stations have recently played selections from the album in the Los Angeles area. In 2017, he was selected to participate in the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music in Canada, directed by Vijay Iyer.
