Loyola to hold discussion on gun violence

Loyola University Maryland will hold a presentation and discussion, Gun Violence: Honoring Lives Sacrificed, on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at 5–6:30 p.m. in Maryland Hall 241 on the Evergreen campus.

Loyola’s office of mission integration is sponsoring the event, which is free and open to the public.

Rev. Timothy Brown, S.J., assistant to the president for mission integration, and Ann Costlow, owner of Sofi's Crepes in Baltimore, will show a presentation honoring the victims of gun violence over the past decade. The event will provide a discussion on how the community can take action steps to bring about change.

“This discussion is important because although it is a topic of conversation among many, accountability and action are needed from our elected representatives to enforce sensible gun legislation for this country,” said Costlow.

Fr. Brown offered a similar presentation on Nov. 4, 2018, at the Ignatian Teach-in in Washington, D.C.
