Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society Presents Kenny Barron Quintet in Concert

Continuing its more than quarter-century tradition of bringing award-winning jazz musicians to the city for intimate, memorable performances, the Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society launches its 2018-2019 season with a concert by renowned pianist Kenny Barron and his Quintet on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Honored by The National Endowment for the Arts as a 2010 Jazz Master, Barron has an unmatched ability to mesmerize audiences with his elegant playing, sensitive melodies and infectious rhythms. The Los Angeles Timesnamed him “one of the top jazz pianists in the world,” and Jazz Weekly calls him “the most lyrical piano player of our time.” Barron is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a nine-time Grammy Award nominee. “Certainly, he’s established himself as one of the leading piano players we have with us.” (JazzTimes)

The Barron concert and the others in the series take place at 5 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art (10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218). Information is available at baltimorechamberjazz.org, on Facebook, or by calling (410) 385-5888.

An individual subscription to all five jazz concerts in the 2018-2019 season is available for $215. Individual tickets for the Kenny Barron concert are $55 general admission and $53 for BMA members and seniors over 65. Tickets for students are $10 and can only be purchased on the day of the concert.
