Free Fall Baltimore presents: Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble's "Hot Strings and Flying Feet: A Baltimore Story!"

“Hot String and Flying Feet: A Baltimore Story” takes you on a journey that conveys the power and joy of traditional music and percussive dance, integrating live music, song, and dance to illuminate the multicultural roots of American music and dance and tell a Baltimore story. Encompassing African, European, and American traditions, live music and an exciting array of percussive dances are performed, including Irish step dance, African gumboot dance, tap, clogging, and hamboning, along with inspiring audience participation. Join us for this family friendly show for all ages!

Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble is celebrating 40 years as a performing ensemble in the coming season and has delighted audiences of all ages and cultures around the world. Performing in the London run of Riverdance and recently featured in the International Bluegrass Music Awards Show, broadcast on Music City Roots, Footworks is recognized as pioneers in bringing traditional Americana music and percussive dance to the concert stage and is also dedicated to teaching and working with youth; celebrating over 39 years in Arts-In-Education. Footworks remains true to traditional American music and percussive dance and presents connected roots and branches from many cultures. All of Footworks programming is a celebration of the cultural diversity found in the United States. The Washington Post declares, "The eruptive joy of Footworks is as contagious as laughter!"
