Jazz Trumpeter Sean Jones in Concert

One of the great jazz trumpeters of our time, Sean Jones is known for his technical brillliance, his bold but tasteful improvisation, and for the emotional depth of his music. Just named chair of Peabody’s Jazz Studies, he will be joined in this Tiffany Series concert by faculty members Alex Brown on piano, Kris Funn on bass, and Quincy Phillips on drums.

Jones is also artistic director of the Pittsburgh Jazz orchesta and a member of the SF JAZZ Collective. He was principal trumpet in Wynton Marsalis’s Jazz at Lincoln Center orchestra, and is the Artistic director of Carnegie Hall’s new National Youth Orchestra-Jazz. Free parking and shuttle service. Students get Free Admission.
