Scholar-in-Residence Weekend - "Debate: Tradition vs. Modernity"

The Reform Jewish synagogues of Baltimore will hold the Hoffberger Foundation for Torah Studies Scholar-in-Residence Weekend April 20 to 22 with Rabbi David Ruderman of the University of Pennsylvania. Ruderman will present four lectures. His first lecture, “Debate: Tradition vs. Modernity,” will discuss Abraham Geiger, the founding ideologue of Reform Judaism, and Samson Raphael Hirsch, the leader of Neo-Orthodoxy, who had competing visions of Jewish life in the modern world.
