Deborah Willis Lecture: Locating the Self-Portrait in Postcard and Photobooth Imagery

The Johns Hopkins University Sheridan Libraries present the 2018 Hammerman Lecture, "Locating the Self-Portrait in Postcard and Photobooth Imagery," by renowned photographic historian Deborah Willis, whose pioneering work in the 1980s gave rise to the field of African-American photographic history.

Admission is free; advance registration is requested.

Deborah Willis, Ph.D., is University Professor and Chair of the Department of Photography & Imaging at the Tisch School of the Arts and an affiliated faculty member of Africana Studies in the Department of Social & Cultural Analysis at New York University.

The Judge Robert I. H. Hammerman Memorial Lecture was established in 2006 as a tribute to Judge Hammerman's devotion to scholarship and education for the greater Baltimore and Hopkins communities.
