St. Matthew Passion

St. Matthew Passion

Concert Artists of Baltimore and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Present the third concert in Concert Artists' Maestro Series, the “St. Matthew Passion.” Bach’s powerful and stirring oratorio performed in the divine setting of the Basilica of the Assumption. Nearly three centuries after it was composed, Bach’s masterpiece continues to move audiences. Double chorus and double orchestra join forces with vocal soloists representing characters from history’s most transformative story. Tenor Matthew Hill sings the role of the Evangelist, and Cody Muller, bass, sings the role of Jesus.

This performance is dedicated to the memory of Monsignor Arthur F. Valenzano.

This concert is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, RCM&D, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Counselman.

Concert Artists of Baltimore is funded in part by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.

This program is also made possible in part through the sponsorship of the Baltimore County Executive, County Council, and the Commission on the Arts and Sciences, and Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts.
