Troy Koger returns to the Cabaret at Germanos presenting a warm evening to get you in the holiday spirit. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as Troy sings a broad range of favorites from the Holiday and Christmas songbooks in varying musical styles. Accompanied by the Terry Koger Quartet, the evening will feature traditional Christmas hymns and carols, as well as many contemporary holiday favorites. It's an evening for the entire family!
A key player in the revival of the hammered dulcimer, Walt Michael’s repertoire includes old-time Southern Appalachian, Celtic, & original compositions in performances ranging from the coal camps of Appalachia to the White House, and the Closing Ceremonies of the 13th Olympic Winter Games. He received a 2016 MD Traditions Apprenticeship Award from the MD State Arts Council as a master hammered dulcimer player.

Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music celebrates its 42nd annual holiday concert Let Heaven & Nature Sing on Sunday, December 3rd. From Antonio Vivaldi to Irving Berlin, 3 choirs of nearly 100 children will raise their voices to welcome the season with festive tales in song from heaven & earth, friendly creatures & wintry nature. MarcOlivia is an award-winning violin and violin/viola classical music duo that has appeared on NPR’s “Performance Today” and “Front Row Washington.” They perform frequently in the Washington DC area, including at the Phillips Collection (where they are included on several CDs of Series Highlights and Distinguished Performers), the Kennedy Center, Strathmore, Merkin Hall, and Symphony Space in NYC.
They will perform music of Mozart, Sibelius, Fuchs, Milhaud and others, arranged for two violins and violin/viola duo.
Age 17 and under is admitted free with a paying adult.

The McDaniel College Choir presents “Musical Legacies” in celebration of McDaniel College’s 150th anniversary. In addition, the choir performs festive music from diverse locales and historical eras, as well as several familiar carols during which audience participation is encouraged.
The choir is under the direction of Margaret Boudreaux, director of choral activities at McDaniel, with pianist and music faculty member David Kreider serving as accompanist.
Columbia Pro Cantare will perform Handel’s Messiah, Sunday, December 3, 2017, 7:30 pm, at the Jim Rouse Theatre. Joing artistic director Frances Motyca Dawson and the 100-member chorus for the performance will be guest soloists Amy Van Roekel, soprano, Leah Serr, mezzo, Charles Reid, tenor, Steven Eddy, baritone, Henry lowe, positive organ, and Festival Orchestra. There will be a pre-concert talk on the music at 6:30 pm, and a post-concert reception.
The Department of Music presents the Camerata Chamber Choir under the direction of Stephen Caracciolo. A select choir of 40–50 singers drawn from all majors of the university, Camerata performs a wide variety of works drawn from the expansive choral repertoire, including Renaissance motets, folksongs, choral-orchestral works, German part songs, Russian sacred liturgies, American spirituals, and new works.
This event is one hour long, free and open to the public. No tickets required. When you arrive at Peabody, ask the security or a student where the Griswold Hall is, as it can be a little complicated to locate.
