About the Artists:

Claire Bourg began her violin studies at age 5 in the Chicagoland area. A laureate of many competitions, she has been a featured soloist with several orchestras performing in such venues as Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, as well as recently making her solo debut in Boston’s Jordan Hall. Claire has appeared on NPR’s From the Top and Chicago’s WFMT Introductions radio programs and has attended the IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses.
An avid chamber musician, Claire has attended the Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute where she collaborated with Kim Kashkashian and Frans Helmerson, and worked with Leon Fleisher, Robert Levin and Donald Weilerstein, among others. Claire previously attended the Taos School of Music and the Gstaadt Menuhin Festival Academy where she studied with artists such as Robert McDonald, Michael Tree, Igor Ozim and the Borromeo, Brentano, Miro and Shanghai quartets.
Claire has participated in master classes with the Takacs Quartet, Gerhard Schulz, James Ehnes, and Vadim Gluzman and has received coaching from Lawrence Lesser, Paul Biss, and Natasha Brofsky, among others.
She currently attends the Curtis Institute of Music, studying with Pamela Frank and Arnold Steinhardt. Claire received her Bachelor’s degree from New England Conservatory where she studied with Miriam Fried.

Arlen Hlusko is a dynamic and versatile young musician who has performed as soloist and chamber musician across North America, Asia, and Europe. A laureate of several competitions including Best Performance by a Cellist at the Kingsville International Competition, she has appeared as soloist with ensembles including the National Arts Center Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic, and has collaborated in performance with Donald Weilerstein, Ida Kavafian, and members of the Guarneri, Orion, and Tokyo String Quartets, among others. Arlen has performed as principal cellist of several ensembles, including the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and New York String Orchestra. Committed to using her music to serve her community, Arlen served as a 2015-16 ArtistYear fellow, and won a 2016 Tarisio Trust Grant to present her own interactive chamber music concert series, Philadelphia Performances for Autism. She is currently based out of Philadelphia where she does a myriad of work, including being a member of the Dolce Suono Ensemble, chamber music freelancing with ensembles such as the Jupiter Chamber Players, performing with Symphony in C, and being a Teaching Artist for The Philadelphia Orchestra and Project 440. A native of Canada, Arlen is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where she held the Jacqueline du Pre Memorial Fellowship and studied with Carter Brey and Peter Wiley. http://www.arlenhlusko.com/ 

Concert pianist Brian Lin is, as described by well-respected pianist Matti Raekallio, “a tremendous virtuoso with an appealing richness of musical imagination and a performer’s courage that immediately capture the listener.” Since coming to the U.S. from China at the age of 15, Mr. Lin has been a top-prize winner at numerous competitions worldwide, including the Hilton Head, Virginia Waring, and Lennox International Piano Competition. In 2014, Mr. Lin became one of only 20 young artists in the United States to receive the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award, a $100,000 scholarship. In 2016, Mr. Lin received the third prize at the Houston Symphony Ima Hogg International Competition, one of the foremost multi-instrument competitions in the world. In addition to his success in competitions and concert performances, Mr. Lin places great importance in music education for the younger generation. In 2016, he founded his own music school in Shenzhen, China, where it currently provides lessons to over 100 enrolled students. In the United States, Mr. Lin has also performed and lectured at numerous secondary and primary schools across the country. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree at The Juilliard School in 2014 and 2016 and is currently pursuing his doctorate degree at the Peabody Conservatory studying with Yong-Hi Moon.
