Brooklyn songwriter Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn and Los Angeles musical polymath Jherek Bischoff have teamed up for an evening of songs arranged for strings. The night will feature sets from both Mirah and Bischoff, with a euphonious string quartet rounding out the band. Expect to hear tried and true faves along with new music from both Mirah and Bischoff’s forthcoming albums.
Garden Festival, now in its 8th year, has become the most anticipated specialty plant, antiques and garden ornaments sale in the region, featuring an exclusive collection of 40 unique vendors from throughout the eastern seaboard. In addition to enjoying the shopping opportunities and complimentary lectures & workshops, guests can tour Ladew’s spectacular gardens, visit the historic home of Harvey S. Ladew, and stroll through the Nature Walk.

Mother's Day Special: Tea, Scones and Gardens Enjoy a beautiful, delicious morning with your mother, daughter, grandmother or friends on Mothers Day weekend. Stroll through the many niche gardens at the Conservancy and learn about their design and plantings from members of the Howard County garden clubs who created and maintain them. Extend your walk through the Master Gardeners' Demonstration Garden, the “Sisters Garden” of herbs and perennials, and the large Community Garden.
The perfect introduction for that little ‘star’ in your life. Young performers will focus on pairing voice and movement with basic acting technique to convey a story and emotion through song. Students will learn important physical and vocal warm up techniques, as well as acting exercises that help guide them to make bold character choices. This class will culminate in a special sharing of a musical theatre scene and song for family and friends.

Students will apply ensemble playwriting skills to adapt a familiar story for the stage and to individually create a character in that story using acting techniques. The Collaborate and Create Ensemble is a hands on class that builds important collaboration skills for middle school students and offers them the opportunity to develop their natural acting skills and talents.

Join Baltimore Wicked History Tours to plumb the depths of Baltimore’s underbelly. While we crawl through the streets in town, you’ll hear about times past when some struggled to survive and others thumbed their noses at authority. From speakeasies to underhanded villains to celebrated personalities who passed through these Baltimore streets. This is a Baltimore history tour like no other. Some might call it wicked.
Join Deep Vision Dance Company for an open Community Improvisation Jam. All artists and
passionate improvisers are invited to explore, intersect, react in the moment, and meet
friends for future collaborations. Dancers, actors, musicians, visual artists, and literary
artists are all welcome to contribute and build a rich creative environment.
Participants are asked to follow one guideline: When you enter the space, you are fully
committed to the jam session through moving, playing, drawing, writing, or mediating.
Annapolis-based act Kings of Crownsville are a roots Rock band with a New Orleans flavor. The brainchild of New Orleans-raised guitarist/singer/songwriterSteve Johnson, the Kings play a rollicking, entertaining set that stirs Americana, Blues, and Jazz into the mix.
Their signature horn section transports listeners to the streets of the Big Easy, while they also add precise three- and four-part harmonies to their musical gumbo. Think Louis Armstrong meets Steely Dan.

The Department of Music presents the Jubilee Singers under the direction of Janice Jackson. The performance will be followed immediately by the UMBC Gospel Choir.
