PAINTING A SILK SCARF

SATURDAYS:
APRIL 16, 23, 30 & MAY 7, 10 AM - 1 PM
3 HOURS / 4 SESSIONS

For beginners and beyond! Learn about silk painting as a fine art with respect to materials, applications and techniques. At the end of the workshop, you will walk out with a beautiful silk scarf designed by you!

SESSION 1 : INTRODUCTION
Learn historial origins, molecular structure and dye technichiques of silk fabric. Gain understanting of materials used in the class. Learn the priciples of creating a design, choosing a color sceme and preventing/fixing possible mistakes. Practice using the Serti Technique (dye process of working wet-on-wet, mixing, diluting and appling Jacquard Acid Dyes to silk).

SESSION 2 - 5 : INDIVIDUAL PROJECT
Work on your own silk scarf project! Understand the exciting application of different chemicals to create diverse background effects. Steam, clean and sew edges of scarf till complete.
Then your scarf is ready!
