Celebrate local brews and the brewers who make them! Taste craft beers from across the state at the 3rd Annual Baltimore Craft Beer Festival, presented by the Brewers Association of Maryland (BAM), on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 12 noon-5 pm at Canton Waterfront Park (3001 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224). The event, held rain or shine, will include beer tastings from over 30 Maryland breweries, a homebrew competition (sponsored by Nepenthe Homebrew), a live band competition, yoga, outdoor games, trivia contests, fresh local food, and more.
In addition to the lecture I will give away free copies of my Book. Nannette's Five Steps of Promotion provide a systematic approach to publicizing the fine-art product; while showing how retail-sales tactics can link art to business, without compromising the artist's integrity.
We'll be taking over the street outside the WTMD studios and rocking out with live music from TMD favorites - The Districts, Grizfolk and Stone Senate!

Singer, songwriter, and pianist Sarah Ragsdale has captured her adventurous "Piano Woman" experiences into a whimsical journey of storytelling through pop, jazz, and folk influences, culminating into her own unique "Ragstime" style. Sarah's diverse artistic background, from Appalachia to West Africa, has provided a large palate to describe very personal and emotional accounts that morph into enchanting rhymes using colorful images and metaphors.
Maryland-based Washington Samulnori presents exciting folk rhythms of Korea with four percussive instruments: the changgo (hourglass-shaped drum), the buk (barrel drum), the jing (large gong), and the kkwaenggwari (small gong). The Korean words "sa" and "mul" mean "four things" and "nori" means "to play." The samulnori repertoire can be traced to farmers´ band music ("nong-ak") and ceremonial music. The repertoire of samulnori also integrates the influences of folk and religious music and their intricate rhythms have become quite uniquely their own.
Interiors: Stephanie Dinkins + Bina48 & Bruce Duncan; Love at the Edges of Personhood brings ongoing conversations between artist Stephanie Dinkins and social robot Bina48 to the stage. In 2014, Stephanie set out to build a long-term, empathetic friendship with Bina48—one of the world’s most advanced artificial intelligence beings based on the likeness and lived experience of Bina Aspen. Their conversations are further enriched by dialouge with Bina48’s handler and close companion Bruce Duncan.

And you’ll laugh out loud during our showing of Chaplin’s classic film, complete with a live performance of Andrew Earle Simpson’s new score commissioned to celebrate our anniversary."

Learn more about Asia Booth, sister of John Wilkes Booth. Presented by Kate Ramirez. She is a 19th century researcher, speaker, and living historian who specializes in the Lincoln assassination. She has presented on different aspects of the Lincoln assassination for several organizations including the Society for Women and the Civil War, Tudor Hall, Historic Port Royal, and the Surratt Society. She also speaks about the events of 1865 through her work as a volunteer docent at the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House Museum and as an employee of Historic Port Tobacco Village.
Lauded for his effortless musicianship and warm, rich tone, Amadi Azikiwe tours extensively throughout the United States as a solo violist, violinist, and conductor. Don’t miss his viola program on our series, accompanied by Debby Azikiwe, which will feature a virtuosic body of repertoire performed gracefully and expressively, including works by Dvorak, Bach, and Paganini.
