The Walters Art Museum and the Maryland Art Education Association (MAEA) celebrate students’ artistic achievements with an exhibition of artworks inspired by the Walters’ collection. MAEA advocates for and advances art education in Maryland to fulfill human potential and promote global understanding. During the school year, the Walters Art Museum is excited to host exhibitions on the museum’s Sculpture Court that highlight artworks by students throughout the state of Maryland.
This annual conference is the premier educational autism event in the area for educators, clinicians, families, researchers, and healthcare professionals hoping to increase their understanding of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The two day conference will address a wide range of topics across the lifespan of those with ASD. It will also offer candid, firsthand accounts of living with autism, which will provide valuable insights and benefit parents, professionals, and individuals with autism.
In this monthly workshop taught by artists, students develop their drawing skills through observation and practice in the Walters’ galleries. Students may work with instructors during a single session to learn basic drawing skills or attend multiple sessions to build a cohesive portfolio.

During this festive weekend, we invite you to sample the many foods, souvenirs and entertainment offered at our Russian Festival. All of the food – ranging from the hot dishes and breads to the many desserts – was prepared by our own parishioners. Most of the souvenirs have been imported from Russia. Beautiful icons fashioned by the faithful in Russia, dolls, pins, paintings are just some of the beautiful expressions of faith and love witnessed today in Holy Rus’.

July 4, 2015 is the 200th anniversary of the dedication of Baltimore's Washington Monument. Visit the museum in the base of the monument before climbing the stairs to enjoy a view that can only appreciated from the top of the monument. After descending you will learn about the Mount Vernon neighborhood. Mount Vernon was the height of fashion during the Gilded Age. Learn about railroad millionaires, the origin of American philanthropy, and the pioneering role the area took in urban development.

Cantors Jeff Klepper and Robbie Solomon will present a program tracing the influence of the 1960’s Folk Music Revival from the streets of Greenwich Village to Jewish summer camps to the contemporary synagogue. The program will include audio and visual recorded material as well as live demonstrations by Jeff and Robbie, whose own compositions have become part of the standard repertoire in progressive synagogues and beyond.
On Monday, October 19th a memorial mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church at 9:30 for Peter W. Culman, Managing Director of Center Stage from 1966 - 2000. At 1pm there will be a Tribute to Peter in the Head Theater at Center Stage for those who knew and loved him. Why go to the museum and stare at bones when we bring dinosaurs to life! This illustrious troupe of dinosaurs will storm the stage in this wildly popular and thoroughly educational production. An Enormous Dinosaur Adventure explores the wonders of evolution in an old-fashioned revue of original songs witty jokes and earth-smashing dances performed by giant dinosaur puppets. This show dramatizes historic and scientific facts (as well as some myths) about the great age of the dinosaur.
Instructor Cassandra Kapsos will lead a free 6-weeks art class at Clay Pots for participants 8 years and up every Wednesday evening from October 14 until November 18.
The classes will range from drawing to digital art. Supplies will be provided.
