Contributing to the EDM craze that is capturing the radio waves, Glorious gives her own spin on the electronic music movement with her uniquely organic performance known as livetronica on July 30th at the MEX at Power Plant Live in Baltimore, MD. Glorious will be backed by DJs PUSH who will mix together simultaneously. Adding live instrumentation with her drum set remixing on the fly and injecting her powerhouse vocals Glorious will deliver an incredibly high octane beat pumping house and electro music performance.
This is Baltimore City's only dedicated blues jam, hosted by blues guitarist/vocalist Gina DeLuca in an open mic format in historic Fells Point, three blocks north of the waterfront, one block east of Broadway. All are welcome to play the blues or just stop by to hear a set. Free street parking; no cover. Music starts at 8pm and runs until 12 midnight. All ages; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a smoke-free venue.
"Sassy and brassy" Chelsea Reed fronts a swing era band called the Fair Weather Five. She has performed at renowned Philadelphia venues like the Kimmel Center and World Cafe Live in addition to touring around the country in a trusty blue van. Drawing upon the influence of artists such as Bessie Smith, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday, Chelsea Reed brings the intensity and passion of early jazz to every stage to put on one heck of a show.
This free live music concert series takes place from 6 to 9 p.m.weekly on Thursdays through September 11, with the exception of the first Thursday of every month, outdoors at The Can Company in Canton. A complete list of band, is available at http://www.thecancompany.com.
Join the Maryland Science Center this summer for Patio Parties. Bring the family, neighbors, and your friends for adult beverages, family-friendly live bands and light fare outside on the Science Center’s waterfront patio.
Patio Parties are free to attend; museum exploration is an additional $9 and includes the IMAX and Planetarium. Beer, wine and soda are available for purchase.
Another authentic, down-home zydeco dance party at The Patterson. Jeffery Broussard is a share cropper’s son from Opelousas, Louisiana where his family has been playing the zydeco for generations. An accomplished vocalist who sings in French, Jeffery’s accordion playing is renowned, and he’s performed in such places as Russia, South America, and Europe. Broussard began playing the drums at age eight, mastering the accordion in his teens and starting his own band before he was twenty, and he continues to showcase this amazingly fun, charismatic, danceable music.

The St. Francis Neighborhood Center is hosting their annual resource fair and music festival Saturday, Aug. 2 starting at 11 am. There will be free health and education resources for Reservoir Hill community members as well as live music, fun activities for kids, the Best of Baltimore 2013 food trucks and local craft vendors. This event is rain or shine and free to the public.
