Children of all ages are invited! Explore an exhibit of objects and creatures from the planet New Galapagos featured in the award-winning immersive theater production, “H.T. Darling’s Incredible Musaeum.” The day includes puppetry, puppet making and theater activities. The Sunday December 10th Family Day is free, and open to the public 10am–1pm. No tickets required.
Admission to the Museum is just $1 per person. Members and children under two enter free.

Hanna and the Moonlit Dress

When young Hanna helps a miner carry a heavy sack of coal through a forest, she learns a valuable lesson about the power of a good deed. Help ring in Chanukah with this interactive children’s musical based on a classic Israeli children’s book, “Hanna’s Sabbath Dress” by Itzhak Schweiger-Dmi’el. Children will join in holiday songs and crafts as they help create Hanna’s world and moonlit enchantment.

On December 10, we will also host our 2nd annual “Cocktail Wars” fundraiser---pitting local bartenders against one another for your entertainment in support of our community programming, with a holiday crafts room for kids—followed by Make Studio’s Holiday Sales Party, with light refreshments and new artworks by Make Studio artists featured.
Stop by the Corner Community Center to learn about Prism, a holistic program based in mindfulness, creativity, and community for children ages 6-12. Make an ornament, enjoy a treat, and explore the space.
Preschoolers will love this program just for them. Explore the museum’s galleries through stories, songs, crafts, and pint-size tours with a different theme each week.

Swing into the Christmas Season as Elio brings his high-caliber entertainment to the stage with this fun-filled, Holiday Spectacular for the whole family!
Ambassador James A. Joseph will reflect on diversity in the conservation space and decades of service in his presentation, “The Passion of a Patriot: A Journey from Private Virtues to Public Values." Ambassador Joseph began his career at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1963, where he helped found and lead the local civil rights movement. He was also the founding chair of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal government agency that now engages more than five million Americans in service through AmeriCorps and other programs. Joseph has served four U.S.

Enjoy three floors of interactive exhibits along with fun and engaging programs for just $2 per person from 4PM-8PM! Join in Circle Time, and learn about animals with the Maryland SPCA. Plus, enjoy a visit from The Maryland Book Bank, who will be providing books to children and families in attendance.
Join Santa and his elves for a photo, decorating a stocking, listening to festive music, and snacking on holiday cookies. For children ages 5-10. Cost of stocking session: $10.
Proceeds will go to HopeWorks, an organization providing support and advocacy for people in Howard County affected by domestic violence.

We put together our new Family Holiday Concert with the audiences of our Young People’s Concerts in mind, but patrons of all ages are sure to enjoy these holiday classics! Enjoy the marvelous sounds of the holiday season: Christmas carols, Hannukah songs, highlights from The Nutcracker with our friends from Dance Connections, and other family-friendly favorites.
A doubting 8-year-old boy is whisked to the North Pole on a magical train to meet Santa. The train’s conductor and young passengers turn the boy’s crisis of faith into a journey of self-discovery. Also: Come early in PJs if you’d like. Meet a very special Santa Claus and take advantage of a photo opportunity!
At 1pm, walk across the street for more fun-filled family events at the Havre de Grace Library (movie ticket holders only).
Baltimore Choral Arts presents Christmas for Kids
Christmas for Kids is about an hour long, and it features playful characters, a story with music and movement, and familiar sing-along carols. Santa Clause makes an appearance too. It’s the perfect way to introduce your children to the joys of classical music.

Experience something different this Nutcracker season! Charm City Ballet presents its original production, A Christmas Carol. After past seasons' sold out, critically acclaimed performances of A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, CCB brings this repeat winter production to audiences. Founders and choreographers, Peter Commander and Rebecca Friedman are 2009 Goucher College dance major graduates who have brought together an eclectic mix of local dancers to perform in this lively version of the familiar tale. The First & Franklin Sanctuary Choir, joined by guest instrumentalists, presents the 17th Annual Candlelight Choral Concert, a treasured part of the Christmas season in Mt. Vernon. John Rutter's beloved Gloria (1976) for choir, brass, percussion and organ will be a featured work. The program will also include audience singing and a cappella choral music for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.
