Seeking - Male & female dancers skilled in Contemporary, Modern, Ballet, and Jazz. Also seeking experienced Djembe drummers for performances and classes.

Drummers - comfortable clothes, a Djembe, and small percussive toys if you have them, if not, a drum will be provided.
The 19th Annual Touring Animation Show of Shows
The ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS returns to theaters across North America this fall, presenting 16 exceptional and inspiring animated shorts from around the world. At a time of increasing social instability and global anxiety about a range of issues, the works in this year’s show have a special resonance, presenting compelling ideas about our place in society and how we fit into the world.
Borromeo String Quartet and Benjamin Hochman, piano
The Borromeo String Quartet pairs its fierce and fiery playing with the spirited agility of Israeli-born pianist Benjamin Hochman. The program features string quartets by Mendelssohn and Sebastian Currier, as well as Dvořák's dynamic Piano Quintet.

McDaniel music lecturer Alice Tung and her husband, James Tung, perform viola and violin duets by Mozart, Martinu and John Williams during Monday Night Music. In addition to McDaniel, Alice Tung teaches at Carroll Community College. James Tung is an adjunct professor at Mount St. Mary’s University. The Tungs also direct the Urbana School for Strings

The Vagina Monologues
McDaniel College students perform Eve Ensler’s iconic play, “The Vagina Monologues.” Directed by McDaniel senior Megan Smith of Federalsburg, Md., the performance is in association with V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls.
Tickets are $5 with all proceeds benefiting Rape Crisis Intervention Services of Carroll County, Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland and the One Billion Rising Foundation. For tickets, call 410-857-2530.
Red Velvet
A history-making production of Othello in 1833 will shock London audiences and reverberate through history to influence theatre today. Red Velvet, by Lolita Chakrabarti, takes audiences backstage to witness the London debut of the trailblazing African-American actor Ira Aldridge as Shakespeare’s tragic Venetian general. He was the first man of color to play the role at an influential European theatre. Based on a true story, the play captures the emotion of the times and the drama both on stage and off surrounding this revolution in the theatre.

Lexington Market Black History Month Concerts
As part of its month-long celebration of African American history and culture, Lexington Market will host a free February Concert Series featuring some of Baltimore’s most established and up and coming musicians. The live concerts take place in the Market’s Arcade from noon to 2 pm on Saturdays: February 3 (Black Magic Blues Mission), February 10 (Rosegold Experience), February 17 (The Rise Band), and February 24 (David Cole).

Each jam will feature elders from our Forever Fit & Fun Clubs throughout Baltimore. We can't wait for you to get to know them and enjoy their wonderfully creative spirits.
FYI, we modify our movement for those 65yrs plus so every part can be done seated or standing.

Join us for the first Playread With Me event of 2018! We'll be gathering at the Windup Space to read Sarah Ruhl's In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play) and then launch into a discussion moderated by the incredible Jacq Jones of Sugar!
If you'd like to read, come by around 6:00PM to get a part. The reading will begin at 6:30PM (those who don't want to read are welcome to listen!).
