Creative Alliance seeks Education Department Interns

BACKGROUND

The Creative Alliance is a non-profit organization in South East Baltimore. Creative Alliance strengthens communities by bringing together artists and audiences from diverse backgrounds to experience spectacular arts and education programs and engage in the creative process. We provide support to area artists, promote Baltimore as a center for creative production, act as a positive force in our community, and advocate for cultural expression rooted in a sense of place. The Creative Alliance Youth Education Department mission is to empower young people to engage fearlessly in the creative and artistic process. We present culturally rich arts education programs that teach individuals to solve problems, think critically and to imagine solutions that create positive change in their lives and communities. The Creative Alliance presents tours, enrichment, on-site, after-school, and summer programs that give kids a safe haven and creative experiences. With rising demand for the Creative Alliance’s innovative programs, our offerings have expanded to year-round visual and performing art opportunities in schools, library branches, and community centers. We reach over 2,000 youth per year through our education programs in Baltimore City and beyond. We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to help support our education department with administrative basked tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Passionate about arts education and community building
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Highly Organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Program Suite and Google Suite
- Transportation

PREFRERRED
- Spanish Speaking
- Previous education or administrative experience
- Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Video Production knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assisting with evaluation of programs
- Occasionally assisting in leading tours, assisting during Education Programs, and helping during inter-departmental events and festivals.
-Marketing after-school and community workshops
- Archiving educational materials and stories
- Assisting staff with administrative tasks and special projects
