AAAPI Curatorial Internship (Summer 2020)

The BMA’s Department of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Pacific Islands is seeking a Graduate level Intern studying the historic art and material culture of the indigenous Americas. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in pre-Columbian art.

This opportunity will take place during the Summer months (2020) and is primarily research-focused. The Intern will work in the BMA's digital database, The Museum System (TMS), to catalog artworks, update object records, and enter notes from scholarly consultant reports. The Intern will have the chance to develop their connoisseurship of non-western art and work with a large collection of indigenous American art.

Qualifications

  • Must commit to working 21hrs/week for 8-12 weeks (Summer 2020)
  • Research experience (digital, library, and archives)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Must a be a Graduate level student. Please note that Undergraduate students will not be considered.
