How to Become an Artist in Residence at a National Park Workshop
I have been artist in residence at 6 national parks (Acadia, Cascades, Petrified Forest, Rocky Mountains, Homestead National Monument, and Big Cypress national preserve). Based on that experience, I will explain the application process and provide examples of application materials, the Park's expectations, lodging, travel, etc. The Park Service accepts artists of all types including poets and choreographers, sculptures, weavers, paper makers, musicians, etc. The idea is to be inspired by the park.
