The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) is a membership and service organization that fosters a vibrant, diverse, sustainable, and collaborative arts and cultural community essential to the region's economic success and quality of life.
Conceived in 1997 and incorporated in 2001, GBCA serves artists and arts, culture, history, humanities, and heritage organizations as well as Universities and colleges in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carrol, Harford, and Howard counties in Maryland.
GBCA has four areas of focus:
Advocacy, Equity and Inclusion, Resources for the Sector, and Convening
GBCA provides a unified voice with politicians and leaders, driving awareness and understanding of the many contributions that arts and culture make in our daily lives.
Equity and Inclusion
Recognizing a historic lack of equity in the cultural community, GBCA champions the careers of emerging leaders of color and helps build a more inclusive workforce.
Resources for the sector
GBCA provides essential services such as employment postings, artist awards, professional development, space to work, and promotion.
GBCA brings cultural leaders together to tackle urgent issues and trends, pioneer initiatives, drive resources, and connects the sector to each other and the broader community.
