BALTIMORE, MD (March 5, 2018)-- Baltimore School of Music and Community Concerts at Second announce a new collaboration to promote music performance and education in Baltimore City.
The two organizations, both of which operate out of Second Presbyterian Church in Guilford, are working together to foster cross-audience participation, strengthen the community, and promote the education and development of future performers and audiences. Second Presbyterian provides a welcoming home for the organizations, supporting their efforts to nurture and share the arts.
“We have a large audience of students at the school and just down the hall Community Concerts at Second is bringing in incredible musicians from all around the world,” said James Lowe, Owner of Baltimore School of Music. “This collaboration is a natural fit and will give our students access to concerts and other opportunities and help our mission to bring music education to students of all ages in Baltimore.”
On March 18 at 3pm, string students from Baltimore School of Music will be featured in a Pre-Concert Student Showcase, immediately prior to Community Concerts at Second’s concert featuring Romanian violinist Irina Muresanu.
“We hope our concerts will inspire and empower any young musicians in the audience, and we are excited to expand our programs to offer performance opportunities for these students, as well,” said Christina Manceor, Managing Director of Community Concerts at Second. The two organizations look forward to additional future collaborations.
Community Concerts at Second presents 16 free concerts each season, featuring a variety of instrumentalists, vocalists, and ensembles.
