The Ghosts of Johns Hopkins
Noted Baltimore author Antero Pietila explores the life and legacy of Johns Hopkins, an entrepreneur whose legacy has shaped Baltimore and the world. Pietile will weave together a biography of the man with a portrait of how the institutions he founded have shaped the racial legacy of Baltimore from its heyday to its decline and revitalization.
The Baltimore National Heritage Area presents the lunchtime lecture series,"It’s More than History,” at the Peale from February 15 – April 12 2019. All talks are from noon-1pm and are free (lunch not provided). Bring your lunch and join us!
Presenter: Author Antero Pietil worked for 35 years at the Sun covering everything from cops to City Hall. He retired in 2004 after serving on the editorial board for 13 years.
