Crickets is a fun, play-based music and movement class for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. Trained teachers engage the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement. Offered by Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music (CCM), Crickets gently encourages young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument. Classes start Saturday, September 21st, 2019 starting at 9AM or 10AM in Towson. Classes are 50 minutes long, meet once a week, and last for 10 weeks. The tuition for the fall session costs $200.

Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM) will hold auditions on August 27th, 28th, & 29th and September 5th in Towson for children as young as 5 ½ who are interested in participating in an exciting choral performance program. CCM features highly qualified teachers, small classes and in-depth vocal enrichment to provide children with a complete musical education and choral experience. A One-Day MOSAIC WORKSHOP with Rick Shelley! Come and explore the ancient art of mosaic. You will get a chance to 10:00 – 11:00: Learn tools, cut mirror and stained glass, then watch Rick do a quick demo on making a small mosaic with glue on wood.
11:00 – 1:00: Make a small mosaic or two.
1:00 – 2:30: Bring a brown bag lunch and watch a fabulous slide show (fresh mosaics are drying in the sun or under a fan as we munch) then a quick walk to examine The Visionary's own mosaic treasures.
Workshops will focus on specific journaling techniques which allow for self-exploration, sharing your creativity, increasing awareness of feelings, reducing stress and discovering goals, your strengths and talents.
These workshops will be conducted by Teara Q. Booker, an accomplished maternal health advocate, arts administrator, author, professor, and the founder of Well With Her Soul.
Mindful Art: An Introduction with Robin Williams

In this 2 hour class you will learn about and experiment with a variety of art tools and materials, work with the basic elements of art, and engage in simple mindfulness practices to encourage your creativity to emerge. This class is recommended but not required for the Mindful Art series in October.
