In January, 2018, the Peale received a mysterious package which included detailed plans on how to build a 200-year time machine.
The decision was made to follow the plans and build the time machine in secret. After nine-months of construction at a remote location, the time machine has been thoroughly tested and proven safe, and we are thrilled to now offer Time Travel Tours to the general public, as well as researchers, educators and historians.
Explore the history and culture of African-Americans including the Thurgood Marshall Memorial and Alex Haley Memorial. The tour ends at the Banneker-Douglass Museum. Led by a period dressed tour guide. This tour is offered in partnership with the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Foundation.
Need to sweat off all the holiday cookies! Join us for an all-levels barre class taught by a local Pure Barre instructor. Enjoy a short tour of the distillery and then roll out your mat and activate your entire body during this hour-long class outside! Gather in one of our tasting rooms with individual stations to make some of our signature cocktails. You’ll get hands-on in creating two cocktails that are easy enough to recreate at home. Get ready to have some fun and enjoy some thirst quenching cocktails!
Visitors can enjoy free admission to the entire museum on the first Thursday of every month. A collection highlights tour takes place at 11am. Explore the galleries with a member of our staff, hear the stories behind the artifacts on display, and learn about Maryland's rich history. Groups of 10 or more must book the tour ahead of time.
